Ever since we have had Diesel he has been a funny little character doing things a cat shouldn’t really be able to do, but very fascinating.
Eleanor told me one day that when Diesel was still a kitten she and Diesel were practicing how to open drawers in the bedroom. I never really thought anything of it until I seen it in action. Here is a video of Diesels ‘paw’ work in action, he loves to open drawers when we have gone to work, pull the lingerie or clothes out, and have a little snooze in there, leaving the mess of clothes/lingerie for us to tidy when we return (he hasn’t figured that one out yet.) He is a funny little boy.
Another thing that Eleanor showed him was when it is breakfast or dinner time for Diesel; he sits and watches her open & close the cupboards, taking it all in. So she showed him how to pull the cupboard open. So he can now put his paw through the handle, pull it, and whalla he can get into the food cupboard. We often return home from work and Diesel is no where to be seen. We search all the usual hidey-bows that he uses, and various cosy sleeping places, and still no where to be seen. As Diesel is an indoor cat this can sometimes be worrying wondering if he has escaped under our feet on our way out to work. Then the last place we look is the bottom kitchen cupboard, funnily enough where his food & treats are kept. And there he is, curled up, quite happy and content on the kitchen towels!
